YouTuber Michael McCurdy collected actual police reports taken from Port Townsend and Jefferson County, WA. He recorded local residents reading them, added his own animations, and hilarity ensued.

Normally not very humorous, these calls are all-too-common for police:

  • January 18th, 12:30 am: skateboard bicycle armed robbery
  • June 24th, 6:45 am: well being check
  • August 12th, 7:00 pm: assault, property destruction, warrants
  • August 27th, 7:15 am: trespassing, squatting
  • July 4th, 1:50 pm: well-being check
  • May 23rd, 9:30 am: caller makes over 1,000 e911 calls in 2 months
  • April 28th, 6:18 am: suspicious vehicle
  • November 27th, 8:20 am: festive deer
  • August 12th: 10-year-old changes mind on going to jail
  • April 20th, 7:30 am: otter rescue

But when animation and narration combine to retell the story, it brings an unexpectedly amusing new perspective to light.

Testing her luck on the other side of the law, can she outrun the police under five star heat?

In another BuzzFeed video, Officer Amber Ramsey plays Grand Theft Auto 5 this time to try and evade the Police. She encounters quite a few more bumps along the way than when she was playing without breaking any laws, and as the police.

While on the lamb in San Andreas, a fictional recreation of Southern California, Ramsey must successfully escape the police while the heat is on ‘five stars.’ As a police officer in the real world locale, she boasts her knowledge of police tactics play a part in helping her evade capture, though not always for extended durations.

She started out with the strategy of trying to go underground, and in each attempt, she tried to get away from officers supplemented by SWAT and end even air wing helicopters. But it is just a video game after all; in one attempt, she was ejected through the windshield during a crash, and was able to get up, get back in the same wrecked vehicle, and continue on like it never happened.

She was shot by the computer-controlled police in several attempts, mostly while trying to carjack their cruisers. With varied strategies including out driving, out running, and out hiding, the cops were often right there to put it to a stop.

“My character got shot… a lot,” griped Ramsey, but after several attempts, she was able to complete the mission. No civilian tasked by BuzzFeed to outrun the police was successful the producer stated, though it is unclear how many were in this candidate pool, or how many attempts they or Ramsey actually received.

Officer Ramsey’s best time for completing the task was 4:03. Could you shake off the fuzz faster?

Police Officer Plays As A Cop in Grand Theft Auto V

Can she prevent or issue a citation for every crime she sees?

Officer Amber Ramsey is back with another BuzzFeed Video task to complete in Grand Theft Auto 5. You may remember her from the challenge to play GTA5 without breaking any laws.

This time, the Southern California officer is challenged to attempt to prevent or issue a citation for every crime she sees.

In her play, Officer Ramsey is using a game mod that transforms her character into a police officer. She lauds that the graphics are “crazy realistic” in the faux Southern California state of San Andreas, including the detail of the police cars and uniforms.

During her ‘shift,’ Ramsey handled traffic violations and was involved in several pursuits. She handled felony evading, grand theft auto, and even battery on a police officer, but not all ended in a successful arrest.

The backup officers, she noted, were “pretty unrealistic” in their actions and sheer quantity. “This is a pretty complete shift,” Ramsey added, “I’m going to have a lot of reports to write.”

Have you ever tried this mod yourself?
